Several years ago in 1991, Veronica Garcia began caring for children in her home with a license capacity of six children. Recognizing the need for safe day care she expanded to providing care for twelve children. Group Family Day Care was established under the name of V.G.’s Family Day Care. The Day Care, though small, has provided quality care and consistently graduated children who are well prepared for grammar school. VG..’s Day Care has a history of providing excellent education-based care for children ages two months to five years of age and also provides care after school care. More than 85% of the children she serves are from low to middle income families whose care is subsidized by NYC. In the past, she has had to turn children away because of the lack of space and licensing capacity. As a result, V.G.’s Day Care proceeds to expand its borders each day and one of those avenues includes the birth of Kensington Preparatory School and Day Care Center.
